Joy Hanig

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March, 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wesley. Rosary will be at 4:45 PM with visitation following from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Wesley. Joy Mae (Curran) Hanig was born May 21, 1936 in LuVerne, daughter of Harold and Florence (Robinson) Curran. She grew up in LuVerne until the 3rd grade and then moved to Corwith where she graduated High School. On October 18, 1955, Joy was united in marriage to Donald Hanig at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wesley. The two of them were blessed with two daughters, Jean and Joyce. Joy was a wonderful mother and housewife. Joy enjoyed playing sports in her younger years, enjoyed listening to music, watching golf and playing cards. Joy was also an active member of Catholic Daughters of America and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Joy Hanig, 80, of Wesley, died peacefully on Thursday, February, 23, 2017, at Keokuk, Iowa.
