Robert Joseph Shuman

Robert Joseph Shuman, 93, of Keokuk, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at his home. Robert was born in Gregory Landing, Missouri, on August 21, 1923, the son of James Alan and Virginia Louise Glisan Shuman. He was united in marriage to Mary Louise Neves, and she preceded him in death in 1984. On June 21, 1995, he was united in marriage to Ruth Wibbens in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives. Robert lived most of his life in Keokuk. He worked for the Sheller Globe as maintenance. He was a member of Church of All Saints, former member of Eagles Club. He was a snowbird in Laughlin, Nevada, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary; two sons: David and Harold Shuman; one daughter: Diane Carskadon; one sister Vivian Shuman, two brothers in infancy; three son-in-law's: Harry Hendricks, Steve Horn and Gene Davidson; one niece Melissa; one nephew Chisum; brother-in-law Gene Laffoon and one daughter-in-law Brenda Shuman. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 10 AM on Monday, February 27, 2017, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Centers at 917 Blondeau Street in Keokuk, officiating Father Dennis Hoffman. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, February 26, 2017 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau after 3:00 PM with family meeting friends from 5 to 8 PM. Memorials may be made to Church of All Saints.
