STEVE ROWE LETTS, Iowa - Steve C. Rowe, 69, of Letts, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Select Medical Hospital, Davenport. A Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Letts Cemetery. A time of fellowship with cookies and coffee will follow at the Community Center in Letts at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Cindy Rowe. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Steve was born on December 15, 1947, in Muscatine, the son of Theodore and Betty Henderson Rowe. He married Cindy Wheeler on October 19, 1968, at the Bethel Grove Church. He retired from HON after many years. He owned and operated Louisa Enterprise and took care of the Sewer Department in Letts for several years. He was a certified member of the NRA and was proud of his certification in Utah that allowed him to teach pistol classes and gun safety. He loved to target shoot and was a certified electrician. He was also an Auto CAD programmer. He was a former Letts Fire Department Volunteer and a former ULE, where he enjoyed riding with Louisa County Sheriff Deputies. ...[more]

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cindy Rowe of Letts; one daughter, Sheila Sammons and her husband, Michael, of Mt. Pleasant; two grandchildren, Tyler Snyder of Cañon City, Colorado, and Shawna Sammons of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Cherolyn Kemp of Letts; nieces and nephews, Amber Kemp, Shawn Kemp, Ted Kemp, Dee Bierman and Mark Rowe; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Jerry Rowe; one brother-in-law, Gary Kemp; and a niece, Annie Whitcomb.
