Hans L. Knudsen, 63, of Martinsburg, NE passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, NE, while surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Newcastle, NE. Burial will be in Lime Creek Cemetery in rural Maskell, NE. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a scriptural wake at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE. Hans was born on May 19, 1953 in Ponca, NE, the son of Ole and Claire (Poulsen) Knudsen. He graduated from Newcastle Public School. He married Pamela Anderson on November 29, 1975 in Sergeant Bluff, IA. They were blessed with two daughters. Hans drove a truck for Glen Foster and Sioux Falls Construction, operated Knudsen Iron, and also worked for over 30 years at Prince Hydraulics in Sioux City, IA. After retirement he traveled with Nixon Auctioneers and operated a maintainer for Galena Township. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid hunter, and also enjoyed fishing, trapping, steam and gas engines and going to auctions. Hans was always willing to help others. Survivors include his fiance, Pamela Lamprecht of Ponca, NE; daughters, Jessica Knudsen (Ron Allen) of Hubbard, NE and Lacey Knudsen of Onawa, IA; grandchildren, Aiden, Gage, Remington, Madison and Dodge; siblings, Karen Carter of Upton, WY, Dennis (Bethene) Knudsen of Maskell, NE, Velma Eickhoff of Dickinson, ND, William Knudsen of Newcastle, NE, and Dianne (Greg) Palik of Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ole and Claire Knudsen; and a brother-in-law, Richard Eickhoff.
