Walter S. Pilgram FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas - Walter S. Pilgram, 89, of Butterfield Trail Village, Fayetteville, Arkansas, died on Thursday, March 2, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Vicar Kyle Seibert of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Walter has been buried in Greenwood Cemetery next to his wife, Margaret. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the donor's choice of charity. Walter was born on August 20, 1927, in Muscatine, to Ida C. Pilgram and Walter Pilgram. He married Margaret C. Molis in August, 1948. Walter graduated from ISU at Ames, in 1950. Walter taught agriculture, was a farm management consultant and a businessman. He enjoyed golf, fishing, bridge and being a summer staff volunteer at Estes Park Center YMCA. Walt taught agriculture at Clarinda, Guttenberg, and Calmar, and in 1957 became farm business consultant with the Northeast Iowa Farm Business Association until 1970. s, Arkansas, in 1978, Walt and Margie purchased Bentonville Glass in 1979, and were involved with it until retirement. They enjoyed spending their summers in Estes Park and Elderhosteling. Walt and Margie moved to Butterfield Trail Village of Fayettville, Arkansas, in 1997. Walter and Margaret created several college scholarship trusts at ISU in Ames. Walter attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Nelson-Berna of Fayetteville handled the arrangements in Arkansas. Those left to honor his memory include two daughters, Marcy L. Skretta and husband, Joe, and Wendy K. Rauch and husband, Joe; and three grandsons, Jason Skretta, Brent Rauch (Bridget) and James Skretta.
