Helen Elizabeth Wunder

Helen Elizabeth Wunder (nee O'Donnell) passed away peacefully in Port Charlotte, FL on March 9th, 2017 at the age of 93 with her 3 children by her side. Helen was born on July 22, 1923 in Mckeesport, PA to John and Nell Foster O'Donnell. She married her lifetime love, Jim Wunder Jr., in 1943. The couple moved from West Mifflin, PA to warm and sunny Cape Coral in 1976. After 39 years in Cape Coral, Helen and Jim moved to Port Charlotte to be closer to their children. Helen is survived by her loving husband, Jim (currently living in the VA nursing home); her two sons, Jim Wunder III(Carol) of Florida, Jay Wunder(Velvet) of Florida and her daughter, Patti Wunder Williams(Bryce) of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Justin Williams, Robyn Williams Birkeland, Emily Wunder Marti, Bethany Wunder Enlow, and Stephanie Wunder Stamas; 6 (with one on the way) great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. was very generous, smart, meticulous, and beautiful. She loved entertaining, loved to talk, to play cards, to do word puzzles and she loved the beach, pastel colors, the Catholic church, and her Steelers. Helen loved her family with all her heart and we loved her. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Tidewell Hospice of Port Charlotte, FL. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home of Port Charlotte, FL. The funeral service will be held at San Antonio Catholic Church at 11:00 am on March 14, 2017. Following the mass, Helen will be laid to rest at Coral Ridge cemetery in Cape Coral.
