He enjoyed time spent with family, playing cards, family reunions, riding his motorcycle (which he referred to as his Harley), walking, visiting friends, and sharing a joke or two. On Sunday, December 26, 2010, Phil’s battle with cancer ended and he peacefully passed away at the age of 86 at the Titonka Care Center. Left to cherish his memory are his son Dale and his wife Ingrid of Lakota; his daughter Deb and her husband Bob of Britt; three grandchildren: Tanya Weringa and her fiancĂ©e Chris Nygaard of Ankeny; Jennifer Johnson and significant other Jeff Braun of Clear Lake; and Travis Johnson of Swea City; four great-grandchildren: Anthony, Joseph, and Annaliese Weringa; and Gavin Braun; brother John Oftedahl of Titonka; three sisters: Deanna Massey of Lee’s Summit, MO; twin sister Phyllis Morris and her husband Earl of Mason City; and Marge Kaluzne of Hopkins, MN; nieces and nephews; and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents, and sisters Faye Everding and Jennie Lappe.
