John Ellsworth Russ

John E. Russ, 59, of Donahue, Iowa, died Saturday, December 1, 2007, at his home. Graveside services were held at 11:30 AM Friday at West Cemetery in Rake with Pastor Larry Rehlander of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (D.A.V.) John was born in 1948 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, to John E. and Eutenna Russ. He was a college graduate and served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a carpenter for most of his career. Survivors include his sister, Elizabeth (Leonidas Kotsinonos) Russ of Princeton Junction, N.J., and their sons, Dimitrios and John; aunts; uncles; half sister, Jill Russ of New Ulm, Minn.; and especially his friends in Donahue, Iowa.
