Sherry Marie Furness, 54, passed away on Sunday March 19th, 2017 after a grueling and devastating battle with lung cancer. Sherry, fondly known by many as "Goochie," was born on September 18th, 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii to parents Donald and Margaret Carnicella. She grew up in Pembroke Pines, Florida where she graduated from McArthur High School in 1980. A few years later, she met her husband, George Richard "Rick" Furness. Seven years after their marriage, Sherry gave birth to her only daughter Samantha Marie Furness.
Sherry was an extremely hard worker. She was determined, kind, loving, and intelligent. There was not a situation you could throw her way that she could not conquer. She went through every day with her head held high and a smile on her face. Sherry would do anything for the ones she loved. She was the designated instruction reader, chauffer, sounding board, and cooking assistant. She is outlived and missed dearly by her parents Donald and Margaret, husband Rick, daughter Samantha, sister Angelique, brothers Donald and James, dog Shi, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and co-workers.
