Norma A. Morgan, 83, lifelong resident of Saugerties, passed peacefully, Tuesday morning, January 5, with her family by her side. She was born June 11, 1932 in Kingston, the daughter of the late Augustus and Sarah Meyers Modjeska. She was a graduate of Saugerties High School; she had attended Albany Teachers College and graduated from the Ulster County Community College Registered Nurse program. She worked as a Registered Nurse for Benedictine Hospital for many years before retiring. The joy of her life was baking, and she followed her passion by opening Norma's Designer Confections, where she created many beautiful cakes and shared her joy and passions by teaching others. She was an active member of the International Cake Exploration Societe. Norma was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Emmanuel Wiltwyck Chapter #155, Wiltwyck Chapter DAR and the Garden Club of Saugerties. She also enjoyed bowling in the Saugerties Leagues and was a diehard Yankee fan. Her cherished great grandchildren Jase and Jemma Meyer. Her siblings Carl Modjeska and Virginia Melia and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Paul Modjeska. Entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave., Kingston, NY where friends may call on Thursday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. The service will be Friday at 10:30 am. Burial in Mt. View Cemetery, Saugerties, NY.
