Gladys Lucille James

Gladys Lucille James, 79, of Naples, FL, and Kingston, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Avow Hospice, Naples, FL. She was born November 13, 1929 in Norfolk, VA to the late John E. and Hattie Eva Hill Spencer. She was married to Horace James who died in August of 1983. For many years she worked for Trailways of Kingston, she then owned and operated a restaurant on lower Broadway and then was nursing assistant for the Tender Loving Care Nursing agency, retiring in 1989. She was an extremely active member of St. Clara's Church of God in Christ, which is now Pointe of Praise Family Life Center, 243 Hurley Ave., in 1992 she was named to the Mother's board of the Church. She was a woman of great wisdom and knowledge, always having a kind word for everyone, willing to lend a helping hand wherever and whenever needed. She was generous with her timed and especially loved to cook for all. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and many dear friends. Burial in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
