Evelyn "Bobo" Winfield Baltz, 97, of Schenectady, NY, formerly of Kingston, NY, passed away on April 13, 2016 at Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center, Schenectady, NY. She was born February 1, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY. Evelyn is survived by her daughter Jean B. Rose (Deborah) Schenectady; grandchildren: Mark Rose (Jessalyn) Glenmont, David Rose (Amy) Guilderland, Kimberly Conlin (Brett) Athens, Karen Messick (Phillip) Seaford, DE, Christopher Baltz (Melissa) Seaford, DE, Kate Libby (Drew), Seaford, DE; Great-grandchildren Kaitlyn Johnson, Emery Messick, Nathaniel Rose, Madelyn Baltz, Calvillo Baltz and Hudson Libby. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Barbara Logan (Gene), her brother-in-law Earl Mack, her sister-in-law Patricia Baltz, and numerous nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Estelle and A. Foster Winfield, her husband Chester A. Baltz, Jr., her son Chester A. Baltz III, and her sisters Jean Mack and Beatrice Winfield. Evelyn attended Girls' High in Brooklyn and graduated from Kingston High School and New Paltz Normal School. She taught school in Peekskill, NY, Ephrata, WA, and Kingston, NY. r students, she corresponded with many throughout her life. She was a member of the Old Dutch Church, Kingston, NY, Wiltwyck Golf Club, and The Kingston Hospital Auxiliary for which she volunteered for many years. She loved golf and maintained her game until she turned 90. Her joys were family and music. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren remember board game championships and ice cream with sprinkles. An accomplished pianist and organist, she played for family, church, school and community functions. She was happiest when "jamming" with her son Chet on piano and organ. Bobo's family wishes to express their special thanks and gratitude to the Ellis Residential and Rehabilitation Center staff whose gentle, loving care went far beyond their job descriptions. Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY where the funeral service will take place on Tuesday, April 19th at 12pm. Burial will follow in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
