William "Bill" P. Atkins

William "Bill" P. Atkins, 74, Indianapolis, passed away Sunday evening, April 30, 2017, at St. Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born February 28, 1943, in Fentress County, Tennessee, the son of Willie and Edna (Dossett) Atkins. Bill served in the U.S. Army, after his separation from the armed services, he attended Ball State University where he received his Bachelor of Science. Bill worked at Regency Electronics as a Certified Public Accountant for several years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of Indian Creek Christian Church, and also had been a member of Johnson County Jaycees. Bill enjoyed fishing, some golf, playing cards, and watching his sports, especially his Indianapolis Colts. Survivors include his wife, Frances, whom he married December 29, 1962; son Matt, (wife Angie) Atkins; daughter Marci Atkins; grandchildren, Dylan Atkins, Christian, Jacob, and Maecy; brother Joel (wife Dixie) Atkins, and sister, Carolyn Murphy.
