PFC Jeffrey Ryan Cooper, age 20, formerly of Sheffield Lake, passed away tragically on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
He was born on February 19, 1997 in Elyria, Ohio. He was a 2016 graduate of TCTC of Trumbull County. Prior to graduation, Jeffrey proudly enlisted in the Ohio National Guard, in 2015. He graduated Basic Training on November 23, 2016 and became part of the 838th Military Police Company of Christy Armory, Youngstown, OH.
Jeffrey was a member of Cortland Trinity Church, as well as a member of the Military Police Regime. Jeffrey enjoyed spending his time outdoors and would be found running, fishing, camping, and mountain biking, to name just a few. He was quite the prankster and always strived to make everyone laugh. Jeffrey loved hanging out with his buddies, and everyone loved to hang out with him. He inspired everyone with his big heart that he always wore on his sleeve.

y, of North Ridgeville, his siblings; Kristen Cooper, Katelyn Colon, Katelyn Weatherly, Emily Cooper, Teressa Cooper, and D.J. Cooper, grandparents; David and Cathy Cooper, Cheryl Blackburn, and Diane McKay, great grandfather, John Galvinowsky, his nephew, Justin M-J Colon, who was the light of his life, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great great grandparents; Norma and Harry Peltz, Henrietta Cooper, Juanita McKinley, grandfather, Kenneth J. McKay, aunt Amanda McKay-Reynolds.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 30th, from 1 - 5 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, where funeral services will also be held on Monday, at 11:00 am. J.J. Joseph and Tyler Wolfe will be officiating services. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Garden, Avon.
Jeffrey was always proud to volunteer his time and efforts to the ALS Association and all of their walks and fundraisers, doing so to carry on his aunt Mandi's memory. He was quite pleased with himself when he carried his team's sign above his head for an entire ALS Walk in Akron.
