Gloryann Koester

Gloryann Koester, 80 of Allen, NE, died Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at a Medical Center in Wayne. Celebration of her life will be at Journey Christian Church, Wayne, NE on Monday, May 15. Family will welcome and greet visitors from 10:00-11:00 a.m. The Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. followed by lunch. There will be no burial service. Arrangements are under the direction of Mohr Funeral Home of Ponca, NE. Gloryann (Isom) Koester celebrated her entrance to the world on August 31, 1936 to her parents, Noel and Beatrice (Toots) Isom. Her dancing appointment with the angels was in the early morning hours of May 9, 2017. Gloryann was born and grew up on a farm west of a town she called, "Allen, Nebraska, USA." She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's country church outside of Concord. She attended country school in a one-room school house outside of Allen. While unknown to her at the time, her school mate, Larry Paul Koester, ended up being her life-time mate thru their marriage on November 2, 1951 in a private ceremony at the Lutheran Church in Laurel, NE. they would have celebrated 66 years together. In addition to working on farm and raising a family, she completed school and worked as a cosmetologist in Allen. Gloryann then moved on to a 33-year career as a skin care consultant and eventually an Executive National Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics. Her work took her to places across the country and earning trips around the world, in addition to a pink Cadillac every two years. She has spent the past two years at Brookdale Senior Living uplifting the lives of other residents of the community. She is survived by a sister Gale Stalling; and brothers Butch and Monte; her husband, Larry; 4 children, D'vee Buss, Todd Koester, Stacee Milan, and Bob Koester; along with 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
