Mary Eleanor Dickens, age 80, died peacefully of natural causes in her home Tuesday, May 2, 2017. She was born in Grafton, N. Dakota., daughter to Helen Ouhl and Reuben Johnson. She grew up on their family farm in Crystal, N. Dakota. She was a retired Registered Nurse, serving at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., before moving to Ft. Lauderdale with her husband Willis in 1962. She is survived by her sister Margaret Kropelnicki, and her three children, Jeffrey Dickens, Deanna Dickens, and Thomas Dickens, and by her former husband, Willis Dickens. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Charles Dickens, Stephanie Chambless, Kristen Chambless, Kylea Dickens and Kayden Dickens. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her siblings Lorraine, Laverne, Reuben, Jr., Harold, and Robert. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Lauderdale, Wednesday, May 17, at 11 a.m. Donations may be given in her name to Craft Ministries, care of First Presbyterian Church.[more]
