James R Childress

Mr. James R. ( Skipper) Childress Jr., 60 of North Vernon , passed away Wednesday, May 10 , 2017, at 5:17 pm at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. He was born May 6, 1957, in Mobile, Alabama. He is the son of James R and Sarah A. (Cassidy) Childress. On August 24, 2002, James married Amanda G. Eisenenger Skipper was a retired commercial fisherman and musician. He is survived by his wife ; Children; James R. Childress III, John H. Childress, Stephanie Childress, Samantha Holley , Denise Young, Colleen Townson, Corrie Townson,Casey Townson sisters; Cheryl (Dave) Duncan ,Tarris Brooks, Patsy Byers, Alice Castro, Clara ( Rem) McCafferty, 18- grandchildren, 3-Great Grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol Turley. Memorial service will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Victory Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday , May 13 , at 1:00 pm. with Pastor Kenny Roberson officiating.
