Esther Patterson, of Green Bay, passed away on May 9, 2017 one week after celebrating her 97th birthday. She was born in Wabeno, WI on May 1, 1920 to the late William Henry and Priscilla Pearl (Peebles) Hartman. After graduating from Crandon High School and working on the production line at Fort Howard, she married Clayton Francis Patterson on Feb 13, 1943 at First United Methodist Church in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1999. Esther was well-known in her family as a wonderful cook, especially for her pies and cookies! She also enjoyed knitting and sewing. She took great pride in her homemaking, and took several classes at NWTI, including hat-making, upholstery, knitting, macramé, crocheting, and candy making. After living in the same house and tending to the beautiful flower gardens in her yard for over 70 years, she recently moved into an assisted-living apartment. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by 1 daughter Sandy Tubbs, 1 step-daughter Barbara Jean Zucchi, 2 sons-in-law Pete Tubbs and Ray Zinsser; 4 sisters, Fern (Leo) Schmoll, Inez Gregg, Eileen (Claude) Bowman, Ethel (William) Bintz; 1 brother Gene Hartman; 3 brothers-in-law Earl Patterson, Bernard (Eleanor) Patterson, Dorward Patterson; and 1 sister-in-law Eunice Mommaerts Hauser. Visitation will be Saturday, May 13 from 2-4p.m. with a prayer service at 3:30p.m. at Lyndahl Funeral Home in Green Bay. Esther will be interred at Graceland Cemetery in Clintonville, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Esther's name to Unity Hospice. Esther was most appreciative of all her loved ones who visited recently. The family wishes to thank the staff of Unity Hospice and CareForAllAges for their compassion and care.
