Walter H. Naylor, 79, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Pastor Carolyn Stevenson of the Coppin Chapel AME Church in Fort Dodge officiating. A visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Walter was born December 4, 1937 in Lauderdale, Mississippi to Monia and Charlie Naylor. He was raised and educated in Kemper County, Mississippi. In the 1950s, he moved to Fort Dodge. He was employed with the Railroad, Kalo Brick and Tile Company, Iowa Beef Packing Plant and then he worked construction until his retirement. Walter was a faithful member of the of the H.C. Meriwhether Lodge #46. Walter enjoyed fishing, community service, spending time with his family and friends and taking care of Coppin Chapel Church, especially the yardwork. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnny Naylor and sister, Bettie Naylor. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
