Bobby David Hebert

Bobby David Hebert, 75, of Rising Star, TX passed away on Monday, May 8, 2017 in San Angelo, Texas. Bob was born and raised in Abbeville, La., and received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now UL-Lafayette), where he was a member of the gymnastics team, coached by Jeff Hennessey. He married the love of his life, Ellen Frances Stevenson, on October 31, 1964 and they shared almost 53 beautiful years together. Bob's career included time with PPG Industries/Westlake, LA, Gymnastics Unlimited/ Lake Charles, LA, Quaker Oats Chemical Division/Pasadena, TX, his own consulting firm, Hebert & Associates/Clear Lake, TX, The Kohler Company/3M Company/Brownwood, TX, and Fehr Foods, in Abilene, TX. He retired in 2002. Bob was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather who devoted his life to his family. His life's purpose was to be of service to others. He was a true "renaissance man." In his spare time, he loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and remodeling every home he was in. Bob was always a peaceful, happy man and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his beloved family and dear friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Doris Joseph Hebert, Eula Mae Gagneaux Hebert, and his nephew, Donald Flory. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Stevenson Hebert, of Rising Star, TX; his son, Douglas David Hebert and his wife Paige, of Houston, TX; his daughter, Emily Hebert Faust and her husband Jody, of Bee Cave, TX; his grandchildren, Owen and Peter Hebert, of Houston, TX and Dylan and Justin Faust, of Bee Cave, TX; and his sister, Virginia Hebert Flory, of Abbeville, LA. his nieces, Mona Flory Trahan and her husband Glen, of Maurice LA; and Renee Roy and her husband Lawrence, of Abbeville, LA; his Nephew Ronald Flory, of TN; his Great Nephews, Tyler Trahan and Derick Roy; his Great Niece, Ashley Romero and her husband Teddy; and his Great-great Nieces, Addison Romero and Emery Roy. At Bob's request, no services will be held at this time. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Joey's on Bertrand Dr. in Lafayette, LA PLACE on Sunday, May 21 from 2-5pm.
