Richard "Dick" Cody

Madison - Richard "Dick" Cody, born May 15, 1932 who not only was a beloved father to us and a friend to so many, but also the beloved husband of 60 years to the one true love of his life, his wife Gayle Cody, passed away on May 12, 2017 after a brave fight against cancer.

Dad fought the good fight; never giving up hope on anything or anyone and fought hard to hold on to this life not so much for his sake, but for ours. In passing, he was surrounded by his family with the same love, comforting touch, and shedding of tears he openly bestowed upon us over all these years. Rest now, my dear dad, from your courageous fight in the Kingdom of God with our Lord and Saviour Jesus both day and night.

Dick is survived by his wife, Gayle; daughter, Claudia; son, Robert John; sister-in-law, Martie; and the grandkids, Tess, Michael and Beth; along with his sister, Carolyn and Uncle Phil and their son, Christopher; and Dick's brother, Pete and Aunt Sandy and their two sons, Peter and David. There will be a visitation held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, with Msgr. Kenneth J. Fiedler presiding, with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, and a luncheon following at church.
