Donald Edward Moran, 82, of Aventura, Florida, formerly of Garden City, New York, East Northport, New York, Burnsville, Minnesota and Westboro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Born in Floral Park, New York on May 7, 1935, he was the son of Thomas and Camille (Caddle) Moran. Raised and educated in Garden City, New York, he was a graduate of Garden City High School and Adelphi College and a Veteran of the United States Army. He loved to sing, and he was a member of many vocal groups during his lifetime including the Mary, Mother of the Church Choir in Burnsville, Minnesota and the Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Choir in Westboro, Massachusetts. He also played the saxophone and clarinet. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Hallandale Beach for many years. Don retired in 1995 following a long career in computer sales and marketing. He was a pioneer in the computer industry in the early 1960's and worked for such firms as ITT, Honeywell, Perkin-Elmer, Gould and Data General. ura friends. He was a history buff who collected antique clocks and nautical instruments. Don also enjoyed entertaining and as a result of his singing, dancing, and great sense of humor he was usually the life of the party. With his beautiful Irish tenor voice, his rendition of "Danny Boy" and other Irish favorites always brought down the house. Survived by his daughter, Eileen Moran and her husband, Robert Ruchinskas, son, Thomas Moran and his partner Kimberly Temple, daughter, Carolyn Jadro and her husband, Jeffrey Jadro and daughter, Erin Sicker and her husband, Darryl Sicker. Also survived by his adored grandchildren, Allison, James, Ethan, Jonah, Victoria and Madeline. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Jane (Keough) Moran on January 19, 2014. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Donald's Life will be held on Saturday, June 3rd at 10:00 A.M. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 542 Blue Heron Drive, Hallandale Beach, Florida 33009. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
