ly serve his country with the U.S. Air Force from 1984-1987. During this time, he was united in marriage to his highschool sweetheart, Pamela J. Lape, on September 6, 1986, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Dubuque. Duane would invest his working years as an aircraft mechanic with the General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee. Duane had a strong love for the Lord and would joyfully devote years of his faith life to the St. Rita Catholic Church in Milwaukee. When it came to free-time, Duane was always up to watching his Packer's or Brewer's hit the field, or even just a relaxing day casting his line into the water while soaking in the beauty of God's creation. But, it should be clearly stated that Duane's favorite, and most treasured times, were when his family and friends were gathered close by. His love for God, family, friends and country were continually on display for all to embrace and emulate. We are beyond saddened by the earthly departure of our dear Duane; but we discover peace in knowing that he's now free from his lengthy health battles, once again reunited with his dad and siblings, and that thankfully we will all join them in time for a most joyous and glorious of family reunions within our heavenly estates.
