She received her early education from rural schools in Iowa County and from St. John Lutheran School of Victor. She was baptized June 11, 1911 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on April 5, 1925 at St. John Lutheran Church of rural Victor. She worked on the family farm. Lorena was united in marriage to Orville H. E. Teggatz on February 21, 1933 in Williamsburg. They farmed near Conroy for two years and later on several farms near Williamsburg. In 1975, they retired from the farm and moved into Williamsburg. In 2001, Lorena moved to Lakeview Village and later moved to Colonial Manor of Amana. Colonial Manor in Amana following a brief illness at the age of 102 years. Lorena was survived by five children, LaVera Vernon of Olin; Jo Ann (Robert) Heathman of Cedar Rapids; Myrna Teggatz of Decatur, IL; Bonita (Gary) Lefebure of Fairfax; Bonnie Teggatz of Cedar Rapids; and daughters-in-law, Marie Teggatz of Latimer, Sandra Teggatz of Marion, and Ruth Teggatz of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Howard (Donna) Collingwood of Williamsburg. Lorena was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Leota Siems; four brothers, Mervin, Harold, Orlo, and Cecil; her husband of 61 years, Orville in 1994; and her sons, Leonard in 2001, Eugene in 2012, and Gordon in 2011. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 AM on Monday, June 10, 2013, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Pastor Carl Cloeter will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home, Williamsburg. Memorials are for the St. Paul Lutheran Church.
