Harold S Conrad

North English- Harold Steven Conrad, was born March 11, 1929, in Washington Iowa, the son of Joseph Anthony & Elenor Mary (Pollmiller) Conrad. He attended St. Mary's School in Keota and on October 4, 1951, he was united in marriage to Bette Jeanne Lapham in Ottumwa. Harold served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He grew up in Keokuk County, lived and farmed in Mahaska County and has lived in North English since 1966. Harold was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, North English. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, trapping and spending time with his grandchildren. Harold died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at his home in North English at the age of 86 years. He is survived by his wife Bette of North English; children: Stephen (Joan) Conrad of Davenport, Mary (Tim) Dunne of Elmhurst, IL, Margaret (Steve) Manning of Williamsburg, James (Debra) Conrad of South English, John (Amy) Conrad of Kinross, Richard (Beverly) Conrad of Harper, Karen (Steve) Waite of Johnston; 24 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three brothers: Robert, Herbert & Merlin Conrad; and three sisters Ruth Hammes, Rosemary Faulhaber & Kathleen Heisdoffer. Visitation will be on Friday, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Powell Funeral Home, North English with a Rosary Service at 4:00 PM. Burial will be in the St. Patrick's Little Creek Cemetery, rural Kinross.
