Marie K Brenneman

Wellman- Marie Kathryn (Stumpf) Brenneman was born April 13, 1925 near Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Frederick and Gertrude (Sommers) Stumpf. She graduated from the Kalona High School in 1943. On April 2, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harold Brenneman at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond. She was a homemaker and helped on the farm. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary, Birthday Club, Garden Club, Iowa County Farm Bureau, Red Hats and ALC. Marie enjoyed quilting, reading, gardening and traveling. Marie passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 91 years. Marie is survived by: four children; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren - Linda of Kalona and children - Melinda Butler (Tony); Rich Oldfield (Cindy); Emily Villhauer (John); Frederick Oldfield; and Reid Oldfield (Gayle) and son Reece. a brother-in-law Lynn Brenneman of Kalona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold in 2011 and daughter-in-law Vickie Brenneman. A Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 2, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Wellman. Rev David Brownfield PhD will officiate. There will be no visitation. The family will greet friends at a luncheon following the service at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. A memorial fund has been established for Washington County Hospice.
