Willie L. Smith, 81, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Willie is survived by his children, Bobby Joe Smith of Commerce, TX; Betty Lou Thedford of Cedar Rapids; Phyllis Grady of Des Moines; Cynthia Jones of St. Paul, MN; Belinda Smith-Clark of Fort Dodge; Patricia Presswood of Des Moines; Patrick Awning; Nada Spencer of Alpharetta, GA; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas Smith of Quitman, MS; Charlie Mae Brown of Fort Dodge; John "Bill" Smith of Fort Dodge; Willie Mae Temple of Denver, CO; Mattie Preston of Fort Dodge; Artie Pearl Smith of Poplar Bluff, MO; and Rosie Lee Smith of Poplar Bluff, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and T. Tom (Spear) Smith; wife, Josephine Smith; daughters, Elaine Smith and Willie Jean; and 3 brothers.
