Debra L. Taylor, 59, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2017. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana on September 9, 1957 to Jack and Betty Taylor. She graduated from IUPUI and devoted her life to helping adults with developmental disabilities. Debra worked over 30 years in the field and loved her position at The Mentor Network. Debra also had a passion for animals. She rescued all her pets and welcomed, with open heart, any animals with special needs. She leaves behind Tiny Tim and Lilly.
She is survived by her father, Jack Taylor; siblings, Gary Taylor, Gregory (Joanne) Taylor, and James (Lana) Taylor; 7 nieces and nephews and 7 great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Taylor, in 2014; sister in law, Faith Taylor; and niece, Elizabeth Taylor.
A visitation will be held at Leppert Mortuary-Carmel Smith Chapel, 900 North Rangeline Road, Carmel, IN, on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 with funeral services at 11:00. She will be laid to rest, next to her mother, immediately following at Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Arcadia.
