Through the years, Mildred worked in several different places which included Willow Lake Farms, wallpapering/painting for others, the Wolf's Store and for the Windom Area High School where she worked in the laundry room and cleaned until 1977 when Mildred retired. Mildred was a past member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom and Living Word in Windom. She also was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of Pinnacle/Bridge clubs. She also was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who had many enjoyments in life which included cooking and playing cards. Grateful for having shared her life are her three children, John Leverenz of Apache Junction, AZ; Ruth Smith and her husband, Larry, of Windom; Darrell Leverenz and his wife, Shirley, of Emmetsburg, Iowa; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two step-children, Marce Dillion and Bill Schreiber and his wife, Carol; one step-daughter-in law, Sally Schreiber; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Fred Leverenz and Jack Schreiber; twelve brothers and sisters; one grandson, Brian Leverenz; great-grandson, Marcus Behrends; and one step-son, Jack Schreiber.
