He also had been a member of the IAM Union while working at Clinton Engines, and the UAW while working at Caterpillar. Jack enjoyed fishing, coaching baseball, and spending time with family attending his children and grandchildren's sporting and school activities. He could fix anything, spending countless hours in his garage repairing items. He was a Jack-of-all-trades. Those left to honor Jack's memory include his wife, Agnes M. Hinz of Maquoketa, IA; children, John (Twyla) Hinz of Morton, IL, Gil (Sherry) Hinz of Dubuque, IA, Tom (Karen) Hinz of Pontiac, IL, Steve (Alesha) Hinz of Odell, IL, and Diane (Ron) Frandsen of Maquoketa, IA; a sister-in-law, Margie Smith of Bella Vista, AR; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers Henry, Orval, Ed and Ernie, and 5 sisters, Lillian Swanton, Norma Shirley, Rose Collins, Alma Koontz and Caroline Streets.
