Wesley Alan Strunk, 17 of Fort Collins, Colorado died on Saturday, June 24, 2017. His family and the community have since been grieving his loss and remembering Wes; his true smile and a spirit that was so full of life!

Wes was born on December 20, 1999 in Port Huron, Michigan to Kenny and Amy Strunk. As the youngest in his family, Wes added new joy and laughter to the Strunk home. As Wes grew into himself, he was known for his big heart and his 'up for and adventure' attitude. He and his brothers enjoyed being outside, whether riding dirt bikes, hiking or snowboarding. Wes was athletic, an amazing musician, who in middle school, formed a band with his friends, named B-Flat. Later, he played the trumpet and tuba in Poudre High School band in addition to learning guitar. mechanics and building. When he was in grade school, Wes was involved in the Odyssey of the Mind Robotics Club. Later, Wes was recommended, applied for and was accepted to the STEM Program, a curriculum based on science, technology, engineering and mathematics. During his studies with STEM, Wes was able to talk to the International Space Station, 249 miles away from the earth; Wes planned to become an engineer.

Wes would try just about anything and he had the marvelous ability to fit in, no matter the crowd. Most of all, he enjoyed life; he enjoyed spending time with his loving family, close friends, classmates from school and his beloved cat, Erza.

Wesley is survived by his parents, Ken and Amy Strunk; his sister, Ashley (Neil) Hosford; older brothers, Kenneth and Kyle; nephew, Luke; nieces, Emma and Anna and soon to be born, baby brother. He will be loved and missed by numerous family, friends, teachers and all who had the opportunity to know him.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 1st at 3:00 PM at the Vineyard Church of the Rockies, 1201 Riverside Avenue, Fort Collins. Please wear a bow tie to honor the loving memory of Wesley.
