Janet L. Jacobson

Edgerton / Stoughton - Janet L. Jacobson, age 95, passed away on Saturday July 1, 2017 at Edgerton Hospital. She was born on January 22, 1922 in Sullivan, Wisc., the daughter of Harry and Nora (Larson) Olson. At an early age the family moved to the Stoughton and Edgerton areas. She graduated from the Edgerton High School in 1940 and later worked at the Edgerton shoe factory. On July 5, 1941 she married Elmer E. Jacobson of Stoughton, they moved to Janesville, WI where she was employed at the Woolen Mills. In 1946 they moved back to Stoughton on the Jacobson farm where Elmer was born. After farming for 27 years they moved to Stoughton. There she worked at Gambles Store, the K&H Co. for 12 years and Walmart in Stoughton. She is survived by her son, Wayne Jacobson of Onalaska, WI; three sisters, Dorothy Rossa, Ione Tofsland, and Betty Wilke; brother Floyd (Beatrice) Olson; sister-in-law Ann Olson and Beverly Olson; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and many friends. d at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 6, 2017 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington St., Stoughton. Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect St., Stoughton and at church from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at Edgerton Hospital, the Heartland Hospice Staff, Dr. Agni, and the staff at Swifthaven Community for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to First Lutheran Church of Stoughton or to Edgerton Hospital.
