Ida Mae Oglesby

Ida Mae Oglesby, 81, of Collins passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the State Center Specialty Care Center. Visitation will be held at the Collins United Methodist Church on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the Collins United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Collins. Ida was born in White House, Arkansas on February 26, 1935 to George and Ellen (Osburn) Frost. She attended and graduated from Elkins High School. Following school, she began working at a bank in Desoto, Kansas. She met Robert "Bob" Oglesby at the Dew Drop Inn in Desoto. They married a short time later in 1955 and the couple relocated to Collins where they began their life together. After raising her children Ida began working for Donnelley Marketing in Nevada and then to the Exchange State Bank until retiring. Ida was a member of the Collins United Methodist Church, Collins Lady Auxiliary, and the Eastern Star. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children Steve (Denise) Oglesby, Susan (Stuart) Strong, and Randy Oglesby; grandchildren Rob Oglesby, Joe (Nicole) Oglesby, Shawn Fisher, Shanna (William) Phillips, Matt (April) Brittan, Danny Oglesby, and Dakota (Makayla) Oglesby; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Dale Frost, and Bill (Virginia) Frost; sisters-in-law Annette Frost, and Marianna Oglesby; many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, brother Hubert Frost, sister Delcie Sheppard, and brother-in-law Lynn Oglesby. Memorial contribution may be directed to the family for local distribution at a later date. Fredregill Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Ida and her family.
