n Diego. After his discharge, he attended school at Simpson College and AIB, majoring in bookkeeping. On December 29, 1950, Dale was united in marriage to Joanne Lois Krampe. They became parents of Sally Jo, Christine Jane, and Nancy Claire. Dale was employed at Chicago Great Western rail road, Swift Packing House, and later retired from Lennox Industries in 1988. During their marriage, Dale enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the 50 states, the Canadian territories, and Germany. They loved dancing, listening to music, wintering in Arizona, and going to Hawkeye football games. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, arrowhead and mushroom hunting. His building skills helped out many projects around town, whether it was erecting Habitat homes in the area or being a "sidewalk supervisor". Dale was especially proud of his 70 year membership to the Legion. He belonged to Bethany Church, where he enjoyed being "knotty" tying quilts. He also belonged to the VFW. He and Joanne supported the Baxter School by establishing the Tipton/Krampe Scholarship. He is survived by his daughters, Sally Anderson, Chris Tipton and Nancy Taylor; his sister Betty (Ted) Bodley; granddaughters Robyn Anderson (Jason and Kyle Flora), Renae Anderson, and Hannah Taylor; and grandson Joseph Taylor; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary; wife Joanne; and sons-in-law Calvin Anderson and David Taylor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family so they can make multiple donations to Dale's favorite local charities in his memory.
