Norman C. Thomas, 81, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017, in Mesa, AZ. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Iles-Brandt Chapel in Dallas Center, where the family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2 p.m. Inurnment will follow at Brethren Cemetery near Dallas Center. Norm was born March 16, 1935, in Mountain View, MO, to Ambrose and Barbara (Huntsman) Thomas. He married JoAnn Mash on July 31, 1955 in Dallas Center, where they made their home and raised their three children. He was a truck driver for Hy-Line International in Dallas Center for 40 years, retiring in 1997. Norm and JoAnn spent winters in Arizona for the last 20 years and made the permanent move to Mesa three years ago. Norm is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn, his children, Daniel (Darlene) Thomas of Madrid, Bill (Paige) Thomas of Phoenix, AZ and Pam Light of Grimes; grandson, Clint Thomas; seven Granddaughters, Tracy (Dustin) Regan, Katie (T.J.)
