Madison-Debbie Jo Nelson, age 47, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 27, 1970, in Madison, WI, the daughter of Robert Johnson and Betty Salverson. Debbie married Brian Nelson on July 27, 1996 in Madison, WI. Debbie was a very caring and giving person who was always focused on everyone else's wellbeing. She enjoyed working in the health care industry with Dean SSM Health. She especially loved her family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand, a kind smile, a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to. She enjoyed spending time at the trailer at the Wagon Wheel Campground and loved listening to music, especially country music.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Brian Nelson; her children, Christopher Holmes, Melissa (Bryan) Rowin and Brady Nelson; granddaughter, Alina Bolt; father, Robert (Doris) Johnson; siblings, Lisa Johnson and Denise Walterscheit; mother-in-law, Barbara Nelson, many aunts and uncles; other family and friends; and her dogs, Boomer and Bailey.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7pm on Friday, July 28, 2017, at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N Sherman Ave, Madison, with Pastor John Berg presiding.
