Michael E. Carpenter

Michael E. Carpenter, Sr., 47, of Waterloo, died Monday, July 31, at home. He was born October 17, 1969 in Waterloo, son of John and Nancy Turner Carpenter. Mike graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1988. He was employed with Tyson Foods for 24 years. Survivors include: three sons, Michael (Alexandria Willard) Carpenter, Jr., Matthew Carpenter and Mitchell Carpenter, all of Waterloo; a daughter, Alejandra Carpenter of Waterloo; two grandsons, Lincoln Carpenter and Vincent Edgington; his mother of Waterloo; his significant other, Eva Bowland of Waterloo; and four sisters, Jean (Neil Goodell) Clark of Chandler, Arizona, Linda (Jason) Gambetty of Racine, Wisonsin, and Mary Steffen and Susan (Nathan Milius) Hathaway, both of Waterloo. Preceded in death by his father. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward's Catholic Church with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waverly. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and at the church for one hour before services on Saturday.
