Walter Clifton Edwards, 46, of Des Moines, passed away on August 5, 2017 at UnityPoint Iowa Methodist Medical Center from complications of pneumonia. Visitation will begin at 9:00am, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service beginning at 10:00am at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be at Carlisle Cemetery, Carlisle, IA at a later date. Walter was born on May 24, 1971 in Des Moines, to parents, Jerry and Arlene Edwards. He graduated from Ruby Van Meter School in 1992. He enjoyed fishing, music, family jam sessions and spending time with his family. Walter is survived by his siblings, Peggy Edwards of Pleasant Hill, Norma "Blondie" Edwards of Carlisle, Samantha (Leno) Avila of Des Moines, Brian Johnson of Delphos, and Robert (Stephanie) Edwards of St. Charles; sister in law, Kim Edwards of Pleasantville; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Stacey) Edwards, Veronica (Clifford) Moellering, Nikki (Shawn) Stanger, Jessie Raymond, Tiffany Raymond, Krista Raymond, Kristina Avila, Miguel Avila; great nieces and nephews, Hayden, Charlee, CJ, Annysia, Daniel, Madison, and Matthew.
