Elizabeth "Liz" Schultz

Stoughton- Lifelong Stoughton resident Elizabeth "Liz" Schultz, 96, passed away on August 11, 2017 at Skaalen Nursing and Rehab Center. Elizabeth Jane Henderson was born in the red brick house on W. Prospect in Stoughton, Wisconsin on February 7, 1921 to Dr. Frederick C. and Ada (Bjoin) Henderson. She graduated from Stoughton High School with the Class of 1938 and attained a bachelor's degree from Whitewater State Teachers College in 1942. Liz met George Schultz of Tomahawk, WI at Whitewater and married him on May 31, 1944 when he was home on leave from the Coast Guard. She enjoyed being a homemaker and the many friends she made throughout her life. Like her heart, her door was always open, and Liz found something interesting about everyone she met. She was active in the Methodist Church, Stoughton Library board, Blue Stocking and Entre Nous clubs, and was always ready for a game of bridge. and Nancy Pearson. She was preceded in death by her brother Dr. Frederick B. Henderson in 1973 and her husband George in 1991. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, in the chapel at Skaalen, 400 N. Morris St., Stoughton. The family will greet visitors from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., with the service at 2:00 p.m. Heartfelt thanks to the skilled and caring staff at Skaalen who looked after Mom for six years.
