Christine A. McDermott

Christine McDermott, 64, of Waterloo, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. She was born August 8, 1953 in Janesville, Wisconsin, daughter of Merlyn and Hildegard Schneider Faulkner. She married Steven B. McDermott August 14, 1985 in Waterloo. Christine graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1971; she later graduated from Hawkeye Community College with an associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering. She was an executive secretary for the Waterloo Community School District for many years. Christine's life was filled with a love of medieval times. She had a passion for history of the kings and queens of England, France and Scotland, as well as the ancient Vikings of northern Europe. Her biggest love was for her husband, Steve, son, Shan, and her beloved dog, Molly. She will be greatly missed for her knowledge, her laughter, and the love she had for family and friends.
