Michael W. Wasylenko

Michael W. Wasylenko passed away in Ambler, PA on August 27, 2017. Michael was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 6, 1923, the son of John and Sophie (Oleszycki) Wasylenko. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and subsequently worked at O.P Schuman and Sons of Warrington, PA for over 40 years, achieving master machinist, supervisor and foreman status. He retired in 1989. Michael was a longtime member of the Artisans, and a member of the Ukrainian men's singing chorus Prometheus. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling, was a minor league baseball umpire, and a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. In 1997, Michael was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Yolanda Magnavita Wasylenko. He is survived by his sister Helen Starosta, of Philadelphia, and sister-in-law Eugenia Wasylenko, of Huntingdon Valley. He is the loving father of Michael (Lydia), of Syracuse, NY; William (Rose), of Bensalem; Carol, of Montgomeryville; James (Mary), of Montgomeryville; and Robert; of Philadelphia.
