ROCHESTER, MINN: Dorothy E. Bishop, 92, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at Rochester Methodist Hospital.Dorothy E. Welke was born May 10, 1918 to Arthur and Clara (Schoenfelder) Welke in Rochester, MN. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1936. Dorothy married Elvin L. Bishop on August 14, 1940 in Rochester, MN. The couple farmed in the Rochester area until they retired in 1973 and moved to Byron, MN and later to Rochester in 1989. Dorthoy was a homemaker, a housekeeper, and later worked as a book keeper She was a lifelong member of Peace United Church of Christ and the Miriam Circle, Senior Saints, and Women's Fellowship. Dorothy loved quilting, crocheting, and gardening, especially her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, a great grand daughter, and one brother. She will be missed by the Ahlstrom family who gave her loving care for the past five months.A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Peace United Church of Christ, 1503 2nd Ave. NE, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
