Robert William Benike

BENIKE Robert William Benike, 75, of Rochester, MN, died on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Rochester Golden Living Center West. He was born the son of Alvin E. and Sadie (Hoffman) Benike on January 21, 1942, in Rochester, MN. Robert was a bricklayer in his younger years for his father, Alvin E. Benike Construction. In his later years, he drove bus for Rochester City Lines. Robert was an avid golfer and fisherman. He married Mary (Tlougan) Greenwood in 1968, and they had two sons; Robert Jr. and Bradley Benike. He also had three step-children; Gail Greenwood of Rochester, Gena (Mike) Heins of Poway, CA. and Mark Greenwood of Grand Meadow, MN. Survivors include his wife, Mary; son, Brad; two step-daughters; twelve step-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; his sister, Ethel (Leo) Herrick and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Jr., step-son, Mark Greenwood, step-grandson, Joshua (Hermanson) Greenwood; parents, Alvin and Sadie Benike; brothers, Walter and Donald Benike.
