Mark D. Runge

Mark D. Runge, 59, of Bern Twp. passed away Wednesday June 25th in St. Joseph Medical Center of natural causes. He was the life partner of Melody (Peters) Wilson. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Leo Runge and Rita (Steinhauer) Lohmann. He was the owner and operator of Mark Runge Radon Contracting in Bern Twp. He served in the Army, stationed in Munich Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a airplane pilot owning a single engine Cherokee 184. In earlier years he raced a 72 Chevy Vega at Maple Grove Raceway. He was a jack of all trades and loved to work with his hands. Survivors include his two sons, Tyler S. Runge of Bernville and Tucker L. Runge of Douglassville. Also, Melody's children, Tara Palm, Taunia Palm Scoglio, April George, and Tyler Wilson and grandchildren, Aden George and Jackson Scoglio. There is one sister, Debbie Quinnette of Simpsonville, SC a step brother, Keith Schaeffer of Reading, and a step sister, Mary Beth Moser of Geigertown. He is predeceased by a brother, Roger Runge. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Lebanon County, where military honors will be held.
