led to the formation of several boys baseball teams in Temple. Joe was a baseball coach for the American Legion team in Temple. He was a member and sponsor of the Reading Hot Stovers for many years and also was a major influence in forming the Berylco Athletic Association. Joe was a United States Army veteran serving in World War II in Yokohama, Japan. He was employed as a metal worker for more than 45 years by Kawecki-Berylco Industries Inc., later NGK Metals Corp., of Muhlenberg Township. Chef Joe loved baking his famous apple and pumpkin pies. He was also in charge of the yearly Valentines Day spaghetti and meatball dinner at BCIU. Joe was a exceptional musician playing both the clarinet and saxophone in a band during his younger years and later enjoyed listening to Big Band music. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 30th at 7 pm in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple with Pastor Paul Cronin officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
