Daniel West
Daniel Nicolas West, 63, of West Burlington, died at 9:20 PM Saturday, September 2, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.
Born July 10, 1954, in Burlington, he was the son of Thomas Frank and Doris Ann Gevock West. On June 22, 1985, he married Brenda Lee Siegel in Burlington.
Daniel worked in oil sales for the Reif family Valley Distribution.
He was a 1972 graduate of Burlington High School
He recently attended Harmony Bible Church in Burlington. He was a member of West Burlington Christian Church, where he was very active in Sunday School and summer camps for kids. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #579, he served on the West Burlington City Council from 2009 until 2013, served on the board of the library and was very active in the West Burlington 4th of July celebration. He was an avid World Champion Chicago Cubs fan and Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed playing on a pool league.

nts, Thomas Frank and Doris Ann West of Wickenberg, AZ; two brothers, Kenton "Ken" (Stacey) West of West Pagosa Springs, CO, and William (Teresa) West of West Albuquerque, NM; three sisters, Kathy (Earl) Vineyard of Albuquerque, NM, Barbara (Randy) Johnston of Dayton, OH, and Jenni (Bob) Gibbs of Glendale, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh~Thielen Crematory.
The memorial service for Mr. West will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Harmony Bible Church, Burlington Campus.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Wounded Warriors and Great River Hospice.
