Beth Alayne Roof

Beth Alayne (Jacobs) Roof, age 54, of Council Bluffs passed away September 4, 2017after losing her long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Council Bluffs on March 6, 1963 to the late George and Evelyn (Cole) Jacobs. Beth had worked at Gallner and Pattermann Law Firm for over 25 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jeri Christensen and Sue Mortensen; in-laws, Ralph and Linda Roof; brothers-in-law, George W. Lane Jr., Junior Roof, Dick Christensen; nephew, Tom Roof; and step-son, Dustin Roof. Beth is survived by her husband of 28 years, John Roof; sons, Erik Jacobs, John Roof (Sharon), Jack Roof (Dee); brother, Tom Jacobs (Kathy); sisters, Judy Lane (Vernon Porter), Andrea Zellmer (John); 9 grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Memorial service is 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. The family will direct memorials.
