Joseph "Joe" Stalzer, age 67, of Spring Lake passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital. He was born October 25, 1949 in Grand Haven to Joseph and Helen (Gosen) Stalzer. On December 16, 1978 he married Susan DeCan in Spring Lake.

Joe was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and served his country in the US Marines Corps during Vietnam. He owned Joseph Stalzer Builders and was talented in whatever he did. Joe was a member of Spring Lake Fire Department, where he served as a first responder, and was on the hazmat and dive team. He enjoyed hunting and going to the cabin up north. Most of all he was a devoted man; devoted to his church, family and fire department and will be missed by all.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 11, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. David Gross officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
