Bonnie L. Rothe, 91 of Kersey, CO, passed away at Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley, CO on September 9, 2017. Bonnie was born December 29, 1925 in Berryville, AR, Samuel B. and Elsie I. (Baldwin) McKinney.

Bonnie lived in Arkansas where she attended Moore Elementary school, until the age of 10 when she moved here with her family to Colorado. She then attended school in Kersey and Greeley Where she graduated from Greeley Central High School in1944.

Bonnie married Roy W. Rothe on May 3, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Greeley. They lived on the farm east of Kersey (Kuner) for 65 years where they did farming and had dairy cows for over 40 years. In 1948 their daughter, Judy J. Schmidt, was born and then their son, Randell Rothe in 1950. Bonnie moved to Bonell Good Samaritan in 2012 due to an injury.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Judy J. Schmidt, Kersey; son, Randell Rothe, Idaho; grandchildren Dennis (Shaunna) Schmidt, Pueblo West, Kristy (Jason) Campbell, Eaton, Jay W. (Judy) Schmidt, Kersey, Edward (Tiffany) Schmidt, La Salle and Cody Rothe, AZ. She also has three great-grandchildren, Adam Schmidt, Mikayla Schmidt and Samantha Campbell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Elsie McKinney; brothers, Arlis (J.C.), Grover and Melvin (Johnny); sisters, Thelma (Lucy), Ollavee, Edna, Wilma, Alma (Dolley); and her husband Roy W. Rothe.

A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Allnutt Macy Chapel. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens followed by a reception in the Allnutt Reception Center.
