Ruby Patterson Ruby Patterson, 78, of Winterset, died Monday, September 18, 2017, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset.A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where a funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will immediatley follow in the Winterset Cemetery.Memorials may be directed to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.Ruby Mae Hamner, daughter of George and Clara (Wagner) Hamner, was born November 30, 1938, in Winterset. Ruby married Eugene Patterson on August 12, 1956, at the Church of Christ in Winterset and graduated from Winterset High School in 1957.Ruby worked for Northwestern Bell when she was first married and stayed home when her boys were young. She later worked for the United Federal Savings Bank in Winterset. She retired in 2000 after working 17 years at Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Winterset.She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Honey Bee Quilters and the Red Hat Ladies. All this said, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend who cherished the time spent with those she loved.Ruby is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gene Patterson of Winterset; her three children, Mike (Sandra) Patterson of Winterset, Jeff Patterson of Des Moines, Beth (Randy) Molln of West Des Moines; brother, Ronny (Patty) Hamner of Winterset; and granddaughter, Mary Doughty-Molln (Chandlor Collins) of Des Moines.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Clara; an infant daughter, Angela Marie Patterson; brother and sister-in-law, Harvey "Rex" (Bev) Hamner; and grandson, Chris Mitchell.
